The Launch

First off, we here at FACE Clothing would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came down to check out to our Vibes Collection launch party and what we’ve been working hard on over the past few months. It was great to see you all and we appreciate the support immensely - it was definitely a worthy culmination of the hard work that went into the relaunching of Face!

The launch party was held with our friends at the Entrepreneurs Network (@ntrprnrsntwrk) in their gallery space above their printing workshop. We had a couple of days preparation time to get it from the from the blank canvas of space it was into our finished jungle-like installation. The graffiti mural and other artwork was done courtesy of our friend Joe Martin (@thewaronart) who did an amazing job of capturing the vibe of our new collection in his pieces - we can’t thank him enough! The installation also had a huge focus on the look book photos that were taken by our friends Joe Berisford (@bezer95) and Hatty Cleare (@hattycleare). We would like to say a massive thank you to them for making the installation as big a success as it was as the reaction from the photos were overwhelmingly positive. We are really looking forward to working with them again on future projects.

Friday came and naturally we were rushing around until the very last minute. Preparations mostly involved hammering, blutacking and a mad sweaty dash around Tesco with a trolley full of booze. Once the pictures were up and the fridge was stocked we were ready to welcome people into our event a proudly show off the collection. People started to flood in and check out the clothes for the first time and items started to get snapped up, which took us all by surprise. A playlist that really captured our good vibes mantra combined with the perfect weather resulted in a relaxed, positive (and slightly sweaty) atmosphere.

All the reactions we had from the collection were extremely positive and it was evident that the ‘good vibe’ is something that everyone connected well with. By the middle of the night the products were selling better than we could have ever imagined (even the local fire fighters showed up to tackle the 'fire' that was our collection - thanks Tim Chan!) and the feedback we were getting was reassuring that what we wanted to deliver came across to everyone. It was great to feel the positive energy and see everyone enjoying what we had put on. Seeing old faces we had not seen for a long time and the fact that they still show support for this project after years of going down our own paths is amazing, and we are so grateful!

When it was time to say our thank-you’s and close up shop, we reflected on how much our expectations had been blown away by the amazing response we received off everyone. With a quick disassemble of the installation (and help from some friends) we were ready to celebrate with Slamwich Club cocktails and an obligatory night ‘up the mill’ which is basically the law on a Friday night. That and the fact we had pretty much all our closest friends out with us at once, which hadn’t happened for a very long time, topped off the night in the best way possible.

A massive thank you to everyone who came, you all made it what it was. We can’t wait for the next one!

Joe, Jess and Cal.
