The Life Collection Launch Party

It never fails to amaze us the amount of support we have had over the past 7 months of running Face Clothing UK and this launch party was no different! We’d like to start off by taking this opportunity to thank everyone who decided to venture out on that chilly November night to attend our ‘Life Collection' launch party (which was a stark contrast to our previous launch event)! We would also like to not only thank those specific people that were able to make it to the event but to everyone else who has supported us through following our social media content, buying from us online and allowing us to continue to do this, it really means a lot to us all. Thank you!

Coming into our second collection since reforming the company we wanted to build on what we put out this summer and really push what we could come up with creatively. The decision to call this collection ‘life’ came from the juxtaposition of this time of year. With the dying leaves falling off the trees and the countryside looking a lot more desolate and frosty, we knew that with this theme we could create something really fitting to the season consisting of mainly neutral pieces that would compliment the wintry surroundings.

The theme played well into the installation of the event, where we literally incorporated fallen leaves, broken branches and dying plants (all of which were lovingly handpicked) into the decorating of the room. It was an obvious choice to work with our friend @thewaronart aka B.Turman again after the amazing mural he did for us for the vibes collection back in summer. He outdid himself again this season with another stunning mural piece that reflected the creative direction of this collection and also created the quirky price and drinks list dotted around the walls of the room. A huge thank you to him for giving up his free time to do this for us, it definitely wouldn’t have been the same without him!

We also had a huge help from some very talented local photographers this collection. Having previously done some amazing work for us for the vibes collection we had @bezer95 return to take some look book pictures for us. We also had the chance to work with a new and very talented photographer @lscottphoto who also shot us some amazing look book photos. As always, we let them direct their creative vision for the pictures and gave them free reign to do their thing - which is understandable given the quality of the outcome. This collection also gave us a chance to get into the studio and work with another very talented photographer again, @hattycleare, who shot some look book images for our last collection but really got to show off her talents in her natural studio setting. The website images look so good thanks to her! A massive thank you goes out to all three of them for helping us out with this collection - we can’t wait to work with all of you again in the future!

All in all the event went better than we could have ever expected. There’s always that worry that no one will show and with this being our second collection we were sceptical of it being as successful as our launch back in the summer, but we couldn’t have been more wrong! Within the first hour the gallery space provided again by our good friends Entrepreneurs was full. It was so good to see everyone loving the new collection and chatting over some drinks and good tunes, we feel like we have made a whole bunch of new friends from putting these events on and that alone makes the whole thing worthwhile. A big thanks to our new friends at the Staffordshire University Fashion Society for coming out and checking out our stuff too, it was great to meet you guys!

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for us and the company. The success of this event motivates us even more to create new collections and hold more gallery events so customers and streetwear enthusiasts alike can come together to network, chat and chill over some beers, fashion and art. Can’t wait to see you at the next one!

Thank you!

Joe, Jess and Cal.
